Yvette Amblo-Bose '87 - Coach 1988-2000
Soccer, Gymnastics, Track & Field

  • Three sport coach over a 13 year span, starting at the age of 18
  • As gymnastics coach she led her team to four straight Division I State Championships, during which her team went 44-0
  • In 2000, Yvette was named SBHS Coach of the Year
  • As an student athlete at SBHS Yvette earned 12 Varsity letters and won the Booster Sportsmanship Award

Warren Brooks '77
Football, Basketball, Baseball
  • Named All-Conference and All-State in Football
  • Named captain of the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game
  • Earned 4 Varsity letters in baseball as a Pitcher and won a Division I State Championship in 1976.
  • A two-time All North Selection in Basketball
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Male Athlete
  • Played football and baseball at the college level as well as coaching

Janet Dewar Casto '78
Field Hockey, Basketball, Track & Field

  • 2-time VT State Pentathlon Champion
  • Member of the Division I State Championship 4x100 & 4x400 Relay teams and 1977 & 1978 Division I State Championship Track & Field teams
  • Named All-North 1st team in Basketball, winning a State Championship in 1978
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Female Athlete

JuliaDutra Thompson '88
Cross Country,Track & Field
  • 3-time individual Division I State Champion in Cross Country
  • Gatorade Circle of Champions Scholar-Athlete Award
  • 3-time 1500 & 3000 meter Division I State Champion
  • Holds the school record for the 3000 meter
  • Participated in X-Country and Track in college.

Betsy Flint Lamb '78
Basketball,Track & Field
  • Named to the All-North and All-Star team in Basketball
  • 3-time Vermont State Champion in discus and holds the SBHS school record
  • She held the school record for shot put 3 out of her 4 years at SBHS
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Female Athlete

Lorianne Frattini '84
Soccer, Basketball, Track & Field
  • Holds 3 school records in Track & Field; individual points per season, triple jump and javelin.
  • Member of the Division I State Championship team in Basketball
  • Named to the All-State Basketball team
  • 4 year Varsity starter in Soccer and participated in the Twin State game
  • Earned 11 Varsity letters and was named captain of all 3 sports she participated in.
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Female Athlete and the Gary Iverson Memorial Award

Don Maley - Coach 1962-1977
Basketball, Baseball
  • Don's coaching career spanned four decades in the state of Vermont
  • At SBHS Don coached both basketball and baseball
  • He led the Rebels to a league Championship in 1967
  • Don was also the Chair of the SBHS Social Studies Department

Philip J. Schlemmer '83
Football, Basketball, Tennis
  • Member of the Division I State Championship Football team in 1982
  • A 1000 point scored in Basketball as a 3 year starter
  • Member of an undefeated State Championship Tennis team
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Male Athlete

James Smullen '76
Football, Hockey, Baseball
  • All-State Hockey player for all 4 years and scored over 100 points
  • All-State selection in Baseball and member of a Division I State Championship team.
  • In Football played both offense and defense for the undefeated 1976 Division II State Championship team.
  • Went on to play both Hockey and Baseball in college
