Sarah Jane Albee '80
Field Hockey, Basketball, Track & Field

  • 3 yr. Varsity starter in Basketball
  • Named to All-League Team and member of the 1977-78 State Championship team
  • Member of 4 consecutive Track & Field State Championship teams
  • Among team leader in points and was chosen to represent SB in the state wide pentathlon
  • Awarded the SB Female Scholar Athlete Award and Booster Sportsmanship Award
  • Sarah went on to play basketball and track in college and semi-pro basketball

Shannon Kynoch '03
Basketball, Softball
  • 4 year Starter on Varsity Basketball and Softball
  • Named Captain Jr & Sr years for Basketball and Softball
  • Selected to the All-Metro, All-Conference, All-State, North/South game and VT/NH Twin State game for Basketball
  • In Softball named to the All-Metro Honorable Mention Team all 4 years
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Female Athlete
  • Shannon went on to play basketball in college.
  • Shannon is currently the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at St. Michael's College

Stephan LaTulippe - Coach 1980-1996
Boys Tennis

  • Stephan led the Boys Tennis team to the State Championship match every single year he coached - 17 years
  • The team won 12 Division I State Champion titles
  • 8 undefeated seasons
  • His overall match record was 229-17
  • Awarded the 1st ever SB "Coach of the Year" award in 1994
  • Stephan went on to coach at St. Michael's college

Josh Longe '97
Soccer, Basketball, Baseball
  • 6 Varsity Letter winner
  • In Basketball led his team in assists and named to the Honorable Mention All-Metro team
  • As a pitcher in baseball he was named Metro Conference Player of the year and to the All-State and Twin State teams
  • USA Today recognized Josh as Honorable Mention Player of the Year for Vermont
  • Awarded the Special Athletic Council Award
  • Josh went on to play baseball in college and for the Marlins

Dean McLellan '74
Soccer, Alpine Skiing, Hockey, Baseball, Golf
  • Earned 5 Varsity letters his Sr year
  • Member of 1973 VT State Championship Soccer team, Runners-up in the NE Tournament
  • Named to All-State Soccer team and Captained Soccer Jr & Sr years
  • VT All-State Junior Alpine Ski team and also competed as a Ski Jumper
  • Most Improved Hockey player his Jr & Sr years
  • Played in State Championship Baseball game in 1973 and Captained team in 1974
  • Played on VT State Championship Golf team in 1974
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Male Athlete
  • Dean went on to play soccer at the college level

Darin Pepin '93
Football, Basketball, Lacrosse
  • 3rd All-time leading rusher for SB Football
  • Named 1st Team All-State Defense and 2nd Team All-State Offense
  • Named Captain of both Football and Lacrosse teams
  • Led the Rebels to a 1st ever Vermont State Championship in Boys Lacrosse and repeated again Jr year
  • Named to the Vermont All-State team and Twin State All-Star team
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Male Athlete
  • Darin went on to play Lacrosse in college as well as coaching at SB

Troy A. Porter '84
Football,Baseball
  • Member of the Division I Football State Championship team with an undefeated record of 9-0
  • Name 1st team All-State for Defense and Punter and named 2nd Team for Offense and Place Kicker
  • Selected to play in the Shrine Game
  • In Baseball named to the All-Metro Conference 1st team and MVP for Vermont in the Twin State game
  • Troy pitched every inning of the playoffs, four games, where SB eventually lost in the finals in extra innings
  • Awarded the SB Kiwanis Award for Outstanding Male Athlete

Kelley Ann Relation '88
Field Hockey, Basketball, Softball
  • Named All-Metro Honorable Mention on the Field Hockey All-
    Star team for 2 seasons.
  • Won 2 Metro Division Championships
  • Member of 2 Metro Championship teams in Basketball
  • Captured 2 consecutive Holiday Invitational Championships and was chosen to the All-Tourney Team both years
  • The SB Girls Basketball team was one of the top 20 teams in New England
  • Named 1st Team Metro Conference Player of the Year and to the Alhambra Team
  • Kelley went on to play basketball and field hockey in college.

Paula Roche '80
Field Hockey, Basketball, Softball
  • Elected Captain of all 3 sports she competed in
  • Led the Rebels to 3 consecutive Metro Division Championships and won a State Championship her Sr year
  • Named Defensive Player of the Year for 2 seasons in Basketball she led the Rebels to back-to-back Metro Division Championships
  • Led the SB Softball team to the 1st ever playoffs
  • Paula went on to play Field Hockey, Softball and Lacrosse at the college level
  • Paula was a member of the USA Ice Hockey 50+ League National Championship team


Jeff Stone '76
Soccer,Alpine Skiing, Tennis
  • Ranked the #1 Boys Tennis Player in New England in both Singles & Doubles before he even reached SBHS
  • Jeff was the #1 singles player Soph-Sr years and won the Vermont State Singles Championship his Sr year
  • An outstanding independent Ski Racer, competing in the Junior Vermont Ski program.
  • Played 4 years of Rebel Soccer
  • Awarded a Special Athletic Council Award
  • Jeff went on to compete in Tennis at the college level
  • In honor of Jeff's high standards of excellence the SBHS Tennis Team established the Jeff Stone Memorial Award that is presented annually to the Boys tennis player who "demonstrates leadership, empathy and caring for his teammates, sportsmanship, citizenship, and an outstanding level of performance."

1970 Varsity Football Team

















  • The 1st Team to be selected to the South Burlington Rebel Athletic Hall of Fame
  • The 1970 Football team had an undefeated record and won the schools 1st ever State Championship in any sport
  • Coached by Paul Jordan and Captained by Dan Stinebring and Joe Nolting
  • "Winning can become contagious at times, but winning within the boundaries of superior sportsmanship, recognizing the contributions of everyone, and truly caring about one another makes an infusion into the life of a school and in a program that will make a community proud."
